Experience has proven that
learning the skills necessary for this work takes time and most of all experience. For this reason, students will
complete an internship before working cases for a fee. There are no exceptions to this rule.
As some point in training*, the rookie K9 handler will be given an assignment list that will include a
prerequisite number of cases that must be completed prior to working as a Field Agent. Each prerequisite case will be evaluated based
on completion and effectiveness of the tasks requested by Karin as well as the capacity to work with a client in an understanding
and professional demeanor.
Other
requirements maybe applied based on the individual's evaluation at the end of this intensive on site training and evaluation.
You are now on your way to living the dream... working with passion... while helping others in
their most urgent time of need.
*When a student progresses to the mentor program
is based on their evaluatiions, skill sets, background and abilities. Participating in the mentor program is based on
independent evaluation and assessment. The individual must exhibit proficiency in
K9 handling as well as strong professional ethics, integrity and compassion to begin to work with clients.
