Becoming the BEST that you can be... Upgrade to Professional status       Individuals who have taken a course of training with other programs can upgrade to Professional status with PDU and  Pet Detectives International. Below is a list of requirements that must be fulfilled to complete the next stage of your training. You must provide a certificate of completion from another foundation or group that specializes in the missing pet crisis. The class must have been at least 30 hours in length and must cover scenarios, profiling and case recovery work. (We will offer auxiliary training for those courses lacking in these basic requirements). You must provide a training log for your canine partners that includes at least 6 months of consistent work in scent specific trailing or tracking work. You must pass a blind trailing test of at least one half mile and the scent trail will be at least 7 days old with at least two subjects of the same species in the area. You must  provide a working case log showing completion of at least twenty missing pet cases with verifiable contact information for the pet owners. Be prepared to discuss the cases and how you arrived at the strategy you undertook. The outcomes will also be discussed. You must sign a formal deposition stating that you have not been convicted of any felonies or that you have no open arrest warrants in your history. In some cases a background check may need to be completed. We will work with you to complete these requirements and have alternative training and courses you can complete  to qualify.
